Remote control of your heating

There are few things worse than coming home from work or holiday to a cold house.

Now you can control your heating from tablet, phone or even your watch to save energy and provide maximum comfort.

Mathisons have been looking for a solution for a while, but until recently, the leading brands were vulnerable to internet issues with no facility to overide. Now the miGenie from Drayton provides a regular central heatng controller, with app connectivity for you convenience. Proof that you can have the best of both worlds.

Apprentices 2016

Mathison PPHB have always maintained that a local business should be an integral part of the local community and not just a service provider. As part of that commitment, they have been offering apprenticeships to local school-leavers for over 20 years.

Currently, they have 4 apprentices studying at local colleges on 2 year NVQ Level 2 Plumbing & Heating courses. The apprentices spend 1 day a week at college & 4 days a week out in the field being trained and mentored by the highly skilled engineers.

Mathisons pay apprentices for the whole week, including the day they are at college.

A high percentage of the apprentices have either stayed in full time employment with Mathisons or gone on to be successful and independent plumbing and heating engineers in the local community.

Defibrillators

Mathison PPHB have agreed to support Portishead Lions’ plans to provide 2 Defibrillators to the town.

Vital to providing a quick response to strokes, defibrillators deliver a therapeutic dose of electrical energy to the heart, allowing normal rhythms to be reestablished by the body’s natural pacemaker.

The company’s electrical engineers will be responsible for installing the units at St Josephs and Highdown School.

Bristol Zoo Gardens' Insect Zoo currently features 13 huge and incredibly life-like animatronic insects.

Mathison PPHB have been working closely with the Zoo on upgrading the heating and are proud to have been invited to sponsor an insect. Like the new heating system, the Mexican Red-kneed Tarantula is one of the largest and most powerful.

The insects are dotted all around the Zoo and are free to see with your standard admission ticket:
