When you get your appliance serviced by Mathison’s annually the service doesn’t end there. This provides you with priority access to us regarding after service care, over the phone resolutions where possible and an annual reminder of when your service is due meaning you don’t need to worry about missing that vital service.
Service certification and reminders are available by email or post to suit individual customer requirements.
Landlord Checks and Certification
Landlords have legal duties for gas safety as laid out in the relevant gas safety legislation, such as the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 in Great Britain.
There are 3 specific requirements Landlords must meet to ensure the safety of their tenants, these are:
- To ensure that any gas appliances, pipework and chimneys/flues provided for tenants are safe for continued use. Landlords must arrange for them to be checked every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
- A record of this annual gas safety check will include specific information on the results of the tests carried out. A copy of the gas safety record must be provided to an existing tenant no later than 28 days from the date the safety check is carried out or to new tenants before they move in. Landlords must keep copies of these records for a minimum of 2 years.
- Maintenance arrangements should involve regular inspections and all necessary repairs are carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers only.
